Wli Water fall in Ghana.

Wli Waterfalls cascades from a height of 60-80 meters, and is the highest falls in West Africa. The hills mark the border between Ghana and neighboring Togo. A walk through the forest of the Agumatsa wildlife sanctuary offers a chance to see large colony of fruit bats, butterflies, birds, monkeys and baboons. To get there one has to walk through the Rain Forest on a small footpath crossing 9 smaller streams in the process The falls itself is a 45 minute easy hike of gorgeous scenery into the forest. It's one of those experiences where you turn around a corner and hear the rushing noise of the waterfall and there it is in all its glory. Just watching the falls is great enough, but why watch them, when you can swim in them! Don't forget your bathing suit on this day trip and jump in the water! See how close you can get to the thundering water, and if you're daring enough, walk right under the falls to the rock wall behind it. Look up and you'll see a dark shadow over the rocks overhead. But it's not a shadow, it's bats! Disturb them too much and a dark cloud with swarm over the falls and throw a shadow over the small pool, but don't worry, they don't get very close. This is an opportunity not to be wasted, but a spectacular scene that will actually add to your memories for future reference. Bring a picnic and spend an afternoon in the cool water on a hot day! Apart from the refreshing swimming of the water, you can also take a rest in one of the cottage and enjoy the local food in a local restaurant which is located in and around the Hohoe township. This will afford you the opportunity to experience a typical Ghanaian taste. In other to get to Wli Waterfall, you will have to board a public bus from Accra to Hoho which is about 230 kilometer journey. On reaching Hohoe, you can take a bus to wli water fall but you will have to alight on the way and continue on a footpath to the bank of the fall. Another attraction about Wli is the luxurious forest environment currently designated as the Agumatsa wildlife sanctuary. Accessibility is another advantage for Wli, visitors don’t have to climb any hills or descend steep valleys to get to the foot of this awesome geological monument.
